Overview

We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join a growing manufacturing organization specializing in large-scale fabricated equipment. This role will play a key part in ensuring supplier performance, quality compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the supply chain. Youโ€™ll collaborate closely with suppliers, internal engineering, and operations teams to qualify new suppliers, monitor ongoing performance, and drive corrective actions when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier qualification activities, including inspections, audits, and capability assessments for new and existing suppliers.
  • Partner with suppliers to develop and maintain supplier quality plans based on data analysis, performance trends, and risk assessments.
  • Conduct and facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) for supplier nonconformances and oversee implementation of effective corrective and preventative action plans (CAPA).
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet company and customer requirements.
  • Support supplier-related problem solving and act as the technical liaison between suppliers and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping of supplier audits, corrective actions, and quality plans within company systems.
  • Utilize MRP/ERP systems to analyze material quality issues, track supplier performance, and support production planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field preferred).
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in supplier quality engineering within a fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supplier inspections, qualifications, and audits.
  • Strong background in root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and supplier quality improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in developing and implementing supplier quality plans through data-driven analysis.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems for supplier and material management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both suppliers and internal teams.
