Director of Programming & Community Engagement – General Sessions Court, Division VIII (8)
Position Description – Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County. Salary: $81,000 annually plus full benefit package. Department: General Sessions Court, Division VIII (8). Judge: Rachel L. Bell, Presiding.

The General Sessions Music City Community Court, Division VIII (8) is a unique project and the first of its kind in Tennessee, fostering partnership between community and the justice system.
Responsibilities
- Assist Judge Rachel L. Bell and the GSMCCC team with management services essential to daily operations, strategic planning, and coordination of interagency and community partnerships.
- Work closely with GSMCCC staff, participants, and community stakeholders including C.A.R.E. Diversionary Court for Ages 18-30, L.E.G.A.C.Y. Housing Resource Diversionary Court, RESTORE Re-Entry Court, ASPIRE After-Care Program, R.E.A.C.H. Summer Literacy Program, and FUTURE Internship Program.
- Guide participants through the court process, link them to court‑mandated and voluntary services, and provide support as they complete programs.
- Analyze, monitor, and evaluate programs and measure their effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records, write detailed reports, and establish effective working relationships.
- Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
Master’s degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Community Development, or related field, or Juris Doctorate with experience relating to criminal justice, social work, law, public policy, and/or restorative justice, and five (5) years of experience in program development, community engagement, restorative justice, or nonprofit management.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Class D Driver’s License.

Job Hours and Compensation
- 40 hours a week; Monday‑Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; occasional work on Saturdays and Sundays; Comp Time available for hours worked over 40 in any given week.
