Overview
Senior Manager, Audit role at Valmont Industries, Inc.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead staff in the completion of the audit plan and special projects
- Assist development of enhanced sampling and substantive testing methodologies to improve audit accuracy and reliability
- Assist with development and use of data analytics, audit tools, and technology to enhance financial audit effectiveness and insights
- Travel up to 15% (domestic and international) as needed
- Evaluate results of annual and quarterly risk assessments to adjust the annual plan of coverage
- Assign priorities to staffing and budgeted resources, develop subordinates, and promote staff professional development
- Analyze project results to ensure compliance with company practices and policies, and to document and present internal and regulatory disclosures; prioritize resolution
- Validate the accuracy of company records related to assets, liabilities, receipts, expenditures and related transactions; recommend improvements to controls
- Prepare, monitor and review audit examinations, including results of special investigations and corrective action plans
- Assess compliance with company policies, procedures, laws, and ethical principles in all work performed
- Report to the Vice President Internal Audit and manage multiple direct reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s Degree with 7+ years relevant experience or associate’s degree with 9+ years relevant experience or 11+ years of relevant experience
- Professional certification such as CPA, CIA or CISA
- Five to seven years of public accounting or internal audit experience in a leadership position
- Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) process control testing experience
- Experience in a publicly listed multinational corporation, preferably US-based
- Effective communicator, able to discuss gaps and remediation steps; strong standards and ethics
- Self-starter, able to work independently
- Understanding of business process control design and auditing techniques with emphasis on manufacturing
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Experience with governance, risk management and compliance concepts and frameworks
- Direct supervisory experience in coaching and developing audit staff
- Experience designing and implementing automated audit techniques and tools
Highly Qualified
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Auditing
- Experience with Big Four firms
- Experience using and developing data analytics
- Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills for management presentations
Working Environment
Office setting; standard pace with occasional travel. Travel up to 15% (domestic and international).
