Position Summary

The SVP/VP of Compliance is a strategic leader who partners across R&D, Product, Legal, Operations, Sales and other functions. This role embeds regulatory, technical, shipping and operational compliance into every stage of our business, building and maintaining relationships with gaming regulators, labs, internal teams and external partners. The position reports directly to the CEO and supervises the Director of Compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory & Jurisdictional Oversight: Stay ahead of evolving requirements across all jurisdictions; partner with business units to ensure products meet regulatory standards; manage product submissions, lab testing, and technical approvals.
  • Product Compliance & Technical Standards: Work with R&D, Product, QA and Engineering to implement technical requirements from product approval through end‑of‑life; coordinate third‑party testing, audits and field trials; obtain buy‑in on internal compliance processes.
  • Compliance Programs & Policies: Develop, maintain and improve the global compliance framework (policies, procedures, guidelines, internal controls); oversee AML, responsible gaming, data privacy, export controls, IP protection and other related areas; conduct internal audits and quarterly committee meetings.
  • Risk Management & Incident Response: Identify and assess compliance risks; lead investigations of incidents and oversee corrective action plans.
  • New Market Entry / Market Expansion: Collaborate with Strategy, Business Development, Product, Legal and Sales to assess regulatory barriers, define certification strategies and plan regulatory submissions; support online/digital licensing and market entry priorities.
  • Stakeholder Management & Regulatory Relationships: Serve as primary liaison with external regulators, labs and certification authorities; represent the company in industry associations and regulatory working groups.
  • Leadership, Culture & Team Building: Lead, mentor and build the compliance organization; report to the Executive Team on metrics, risk posture and compliance progress; build a scalable compliance organization that can grow 5x in the next 3‑5 years.
  • Strategic Projects: Provide compliance insight for strategic initiatives such as new product technology, iGaming connectivity and M&A; facilitate integrated compliance strategies across all business verticals.

Qualifications

  • Experience & Technical Knowledge: 10+ years in compliance, regulatory affairs or judicial/technical oversight in the gaming or adjacent industry; track record of managing new market entry, product approvals, lab compliance and risk management; deep knowledge of gaming device standards.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills; ability to translate regulations into actionable strategies; proven influence across functions; experience designing, staffing and scaling compliance teams.
  • Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications (LLM, regulatory affairs, compliance certifications) a plus.
  • Work Environment & Travel: Significant travel required; must maintain necessary registration/licensure with gaming regulatory bodies.
