Job Description

As a Principal Infrastructure Engineer in the Data Center Networking group, you will leverage deep technical expertise to develop and implement engineering methods, align with product development, and lead large‑scale cross‑disciplinary projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage multiple technical areas and collaborate on technology projects across different domains.
• Promote and champion development of technological methods, techniques, and analytical approaches across the infrastructure engineering domain.
• Ensure technical compliance, risk, and security are adopted and that service level agreements and solution scalability needs are met.
• Engage multiple stakeholders and lead complex projects comprising large teams.
• Apply cross‑functional technical expertise, leadership, and business knowledge to implement strategic and operational plans.
• Develop and execute the function’s objectives with accountability for outcomes.
• Responsible for staffing, budget, and relevant profit and loss.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and technologists.
• Champion the firm’s culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members.
• Drive adoption of infrastructure automation, SD‑N, and network‑as‑code practices to improve agility and reduce manual risk.
• Oversee lifecycle management, including hardware/software upgrades, end‑of‑life tracking, and technology refresh programs.

Required Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in Data Center Networking and 10+ years applied experience in data center network engineering and operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Deep technical expertise in data center networking technologies: Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Nexus, ACI, BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, etc.
• Strong experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Python, CI/CD pipelines) for network infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of risk management, compliance standards (e.g., SOX, FFIEC, MAS), and audit processes.
• Demonstrated success in leading stability and resiliency programs including change management, incident response, and RCA.
• Experience managing and developing large cross‑functional teams within the infrastructure engineering discipline.
• Demonstrated experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value at scale.
• Experience leading complex projects supporting infrastructure engineering design, scaling, resilience, and system performance assessments.
• Extensive experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• Experience managing and developing budgets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deliver and maintain highly stable and resilient network environments supporting mission‑critical financial applications.
• Partner with cybersecurity, application, and cloud teams to ensure robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure designs.
• Develop and execute network roadmaps and engineering plans aligned with enterprise strategy.
• Lead and mentor a global team of network engineers and technical leads; develop talent and build succession plans.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance tied to data center network services.

Location & Compensation

Columbus, OH – $112,869.00 – $146,730.50 per year (salary range).
