🚀 Refining Supply Chain Director

Overview

The Supply Chain Director leads all ongoing Supply Chain activities at MPC’s Salt Lake City, UT refinery, managing $180MM+ of indirect spending per year and driving operational efficiency through data‑driven continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Supply Chain agenda and collaborate with local business strategy to secure senior leadership buy‑in across the organization.
• Ensure ethical contracting and procurement in compliance with SOX 404, US Export Controls, US FCPA, and all company policies.
• Manage services contracting by overseeing bidding, negotiation, evaluation, claim resolution, and contractor safety requirements.
• Purchase materials and supplies while building vendor relationships that maximize value, evaluate commercial factors, and align spend to business needs.
• Develop and execute procurement plans in line with corporate sourcing strategies and resolve supplier quality problems.
• Maintain inventory effectiveness by ensuring material quality, security, and surplus disposition, standardizing operating policies, and supporting continuous improvement.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives by identifying strategic leverage opportunities and driving innovative business processes.
• Collaborate across the Refining Leadership Team to provide input on refinery policy, decision‑making, and emerging issues.
• Promote diversity and inclusion by supporting minority‑ and women‑owned business enterprises and maintaining a respectful workplace.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or related discipline.
• Eight (8) or more years of business‑relevant experience.
