Overview

The SAP Master Data Leader is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of master data governance, quality, and management within Sciens’ SAP systems. The ideal candidate will drive data accuracy, consistency, and reliability while aligning with the business objectives of the Fire & Life Safety/Service industry. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with data standards, and enabling efficient operations through optimized master data processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Master Data Governance – Develop and implement a robust master data governance framework to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with business and regulatory standards.
  • Define, document, and enforce master data policies, procedures, and standards across the organization.
  • Lead initiatives to improve data quality and resolve data-related issues.
  • Data Strategy and Optimization – Align SAP master data strategy with overall business objectives and Fire and Life Safety/Service industry-specific requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in master data management.
  • Drive adoption of best practices for managing customer, vendor, material, and other master data domains.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration – Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, finance, and supply chain to ensure master data supports business processes effectively.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business users to translate business requirements into data management solutions.
  • Provide training and support to stakeholders on SAP master data processes and tools.
  • Data Quality Assurance – Monitor and analyze master data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
  • Implement data cleansing, validation, and enrichment processes to maintain high-quality data.
  • Perform regular audits and data quality checks to identify and rectify inconsistencies.
  • Leadership and Team Management – Lead a team of master data specialists or analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the master data team.
  • Manage resources, budgets, and timelines for master data projects.
  • SAP System Expertise – Serve as the subject matter expert for SAP master data management, including configurations, workflows, and integration points.
  • Support system upgrades, migrations, and implementations by ensuring master data readiness and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to master data within the SAP environment.

What We Like About You

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

  • Eight (8)+ years of experience in SAP master data management, with at least three (3) years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in the service industry or similar fast‑paced, customer‑focused environments.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in SAP MDG (Master Data Governance), SAP S/4HANA, and related tools.
  • Strong understanding of master data domains, such as customer, vendor, material, and finance data.
  • Familiarity with data quality tools and methodologies.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in SAP Master Data Governance or related modules.
  • Experience in leading data migration projects for SAP implementations.
  • Knowledge of service industry processes and best practices.
