Summary: The South Carolina Ports Authority is embarking on a digital modernization journey that includes replacing its legacy Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), advancing migration to the cloud, and operationalizing the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Chief Transformation Officer (CTrO) will lead these strategic initiatives by creating and implementing a roadmap to drive digital change throughout the organization, bringing the South Carolina Ports Authority to the forefront of digital capabilities that drive operational excellence and positions the organization to support continued growth.
Location: Charleston, SC
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required, masters preferred.
Experience Requirements:
- 15+ years in leadership roles focused on enterprise-scale transformation within operations-intensive industries (logistics, manufacturing, transportation, OEM/Tier?1 automotive, etc.).
- Proven track record of cloud modernization and AI implementation in operational contexts.
- Senior leadership (recent) within a large organization.
Key Deliverables:
- Creation of a strategic technology roadmap for sustainable transformation.
- Successful Navis TOS deployment within agreed scope, timeline, and budget.
- Migration of legacy systems to modern COTS and cloud platforms.
- Establishment of a PMO with clear governance and accountability for digital transformation project delivery.
- Introduction and implementation of operational AI use cases
