Director of Membership Engagement
Overview
Fluence Advisory is partnering with the Minnesota Business Partnership in the search for a Director of Membership Engagement. The Director of Membership Engagement is responsible for providing the highest possible value proposition for MBP members by deepening member relationships, curating meaningful experiences, and providing responsive programming. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution, leading efforts to deepen member engagement, enhance retention, and strengthen MBP’s role as a hub for professional connection and business growth. The Director works collaboratively across the organization to ensure members see tangible value in their participation and investment.
Core Responsibilities
- Member Engagement Strategy
- Develop and implement a year-round engagement strategy that reflects member interests, values, and aspirations
- Design and implement a CEO onboarding program that welcomes, guides and connects CEOs into leadership opportunities throughout all aspects of the business
- Develop and implement a CEO Roundtable series that allows members to explore topics of mutual interest for joint learning and solutions
- Design touchpoints that build trust, spark dialogue, and reinforce the organization’s mission
- Monitor engagement metrics and member feedback to refine programming and outreach
Event & Experience Design
- Produce a calendar of immersive events—from intimate gatherings to large-scale signature experiences
- Collaborate with vendors, venues, and internal teams to ensure seamless execution
- Infuse events with originality, relevance, and emotional resonance
Relationship Building
- Serve as a primary point of contact for member inquiries, feedback, and connection
- Build trusted relationships and knowledge of key members and their internal teams (e.g. Chiefs of Staff, Executive Assistants, Chief Communications Officers, CHROs, etc.)
- Facilitate introductions and small-group activations based on shared interests or challenges
Operational Excellence
- Ability to effectively manage multiple activities and their complexities simultaneously
- Maintain a dynamic member database with engagement history, preferences, and milestones
- Oversee RSVP systems, communications, and post-event feedback loops
- Prepare regular reports on engagement trends, member satisfaction, and strategic insights
Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years in member services, community building, event production, or hospitality
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-starter with curiosity for new ideas
- Strong design sensibility and attention to detail
- Comfortable engaging with high-level individuals and navigating nuanced dynamics
- Adept at balancing strategic vision with operational execution
Additional Qualities
- Experience in private clubs, leadership networks, or cultural institutions
- Familiarity with CRM systems and member analytics
- Passion for creating environments of trust, insight, and shared growth
Salary range is between $110,000 - $125,000. Benefits will be shared during the hiring process.
