Overview

HVAC Controls Installer Lead - Low Voltage role at EMCOR Group, Inc. EMCOR Services Aircond is a leading commercial and industrial HVAC service company with a long history of delivering comprehensive HVAC solutions. This position oversees the installation of Building Automation System (BAS) components for commercial HVAC systems and ensures installations are properly documented and ready for programming and commissioning.

Location

This role is based out of the Charlotte, NC area and will require travel throughout the region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise installation crews on BAS projects.
  • Install low-voltage wiring, sensors, actuators, and control panels per project specifications.
  • Terminate control and communication wiring at BAS controllers and field devices.
  • Mount control components securely and accurately.
  • Perform pre-commissioning checks for wiring and installation accuracy.
  • Label components and update drawings to reflect as-built conditions.
  • Collaborate with electricians and mechanical contractors to ensure system readiness.
  • Follow OSHA and NEC safety and cabling standards.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians on best practices and safety protocols.
  • Operate lifts and work at heights up to 40+ feet.
  • Work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends, as required by project schedules.

Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in one or more of the following: low-voltage/data cabling, BAS installation, or commercial electrical systems.
  • Certification: OSHA 10 or 30 preferred.
  • Technical Skills: State-required low-voltage/fire/security/CCTV licenses preferred.
  • Proficiency in structured cabling, conduit bending, and low-voltage terminations.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and BAS fundamentals.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Comfortable working with HVAC controls and other low-voltage systems commonly found in commercial buildings.
  • Experience terminating and labeling HVAC control wiring in panels and enclosures to meet project standards.

Soft Skills

Strong leadership, communication, and documentation abilities.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in mechanical rooms, ceilings, rooftops; lift equipment; operate tools safely.
