Position Overview

Title: Clinic Supervising Attorney

Salary: Base salary at 140,169 (salary point 19, UC academic scale)

Percent Time: 100%

Anticipated Start: January 1, 2026

Position Duration: Initial one-year term, renewable

Application Window: Open October 15, 2025 – Final November 21, 2025

Duties

  • Clinical Supervision (80%): Train and supervise eight Clinic students per semester; assist in designing and teaching seminar components; manage client matters; vet new clients; develop clinic relationships; travel/represent clients; manage docket during summers.
  • Clinic Administration (15%): Develop clinic policies; lead conflict checks; promote clinic; engage in media relations; participate in professional development.
  • Other Duties as Assigned (5%): Perform as needed.

Qualifications

  • Basic: J.D. degree or equivalent international degree.
  • Additional (required at start): Minimum 3 years law practice experience (judicial clerkship may substitute for one year); admission to practice in California.
  • Preferred: Experience with clinical education; excellent research, writing, transactional skills; analytical, organizational, planning skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; experience supervising students or junior staff.
