Our Pharmacy Managers play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their pharmacies by acting as a role model for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for their teams. They lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care, promotes best practices, and manages performance opportunities.
- Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
- Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, coaching performance, and following pharmacy workflow procedures.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences through empathy, compassionate care, and proactive resolution of insurance and medication issues.
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, supporting pharmacy technicians in learning to immunize.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, protect cold chain products, and follow best practices for stock control.
- Conduct new technician and pharmacist onboarding, ensuring timely completion of training and licensure.
- Maintain full compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and address issues with Rx DL as needed.
- Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues and oversee pharmacy scheduling.
- Review business reporting, identify gaps, and develop action plans for workflow, service, patient care, and compliance.
- Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, fostering psychological safety and open feedback.
- Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, pursuing continuous learning and expanded patient care services.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, professional standards, and CVS policies; protect patient privacy and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
- 1‑2 years of experience as a pharmacist.
Essential Functions

- Confirm prescription information and label accuracy.

- Notice and understand patient reactions, responding appropriately.
 
- Communication Skills:   - Use verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues.
- Practice active listening, give full attention, ask questions, and avoid interruptions.
 
- Mathematical Reasoning:   - Use math to solve problems such as calculating days’ supply and pill counts.
 
- Problem Resolution:   - Identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action among multiple options.
 
- Physical Demands:   - Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods.
- Lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead.
- Perform repetitive finger work and typing.
- Control precision and adjust machinery quickly.
- Stoop and bend to lift items between low and high positions.
- Maintain visual acuity for detailed tasks.
- Lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally; 10 lbs. frequently.
- Communicate spoken information accurately and receive it clearly.
 
- Team Management and Leadership:   - Lead by example and set a positive tone.
- Delegate tasks, empower team members, and foster collaboration.
- Motivate team to adhere to standards and achieve high performance.
- Apply problem‑solving skills for challenges and innovative solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program.
- 3‑5 years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market to meet business needs.

Pay Range
The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is 
$65.00 – $82.00 per hour. This range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade. Actual base salary depends on experience, education, geography, and other factors. This position is eligible for bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive programs in addition to the base pay range.
