Senior Solution Architect – Alliant Energy

Alliant Energy is modernizing its integration ecosystem—and we need a Sr. Solution Architect to lead the way. In this role, you’ll design and govern integration solutions that span cloud platforms and internal systems, leveraging modern integration platforms (iPaaS), APIs, and CI/CD practices. You’ll partner with business and technology leaders to align solutions with enterprise strategy, ensuring scalability, security, and future readiness.

What You Will Do

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for the immediate team.
• Collaborate with domain architects to align solutions with enterprise architecture.
• Design, document, and communicate architectural solutions for software and hardware.
• Develop, refine, and optimize solution architecture to meet business and non‑functional requirements.
• Maintain solution architecture artifacts using best practices and support approval processes.
• Provide technical guidance, mentor teammates, and address complex challenges.
• Engage stakeholders to understand capabilities, data flows, integrations, and dependencies.
• Determine appropriate technical strategies and designs with other architects and technical staff.
• Support compatibility and integration assessment of products and services.
• Perform other duties that support Alliant Energy’s values and purpose.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).

Required Experience

• 5+ years of IT experience, including at least 3 years in software development or application architecture and 3 years in solution architecture.

Preferred Experience

• Cloud technologies.
• Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with new system builds, legacy enhancements, build‑vs‑buy analysis, and integrating COTS, SaaS, or PaaS.
• TOGAF methodology and translating technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
• Strong understanding of design patterns and object‑oriented analysis and design.
• Experience with integration systems, data transfer approaches, and analytics.
• Proficiency in modeling/diagramming tools.

Benefits and Compensation

Pay Range: $91,500 – $126,000. This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. Alliant Energy offers competitive compensation and benefit programs, including health, retirement, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and volunteer opportunities.
