Your Role

This position will have strategic responsibility for a critical Global Strategic Account (GSA). You operate in a matrixed environment but take ultimate accountability for the global performance for the entire full Process Solutions Portfolio. You will be responsible for overall global revenue, consolidated sales forecast, and driving global commercial agreements including MSAs and pricing negotiations. You will develop and communicate a multi-year global PS account strategy with agreement from the Franchise and regional leadership, to help drive its execution and maintain the feedback loop to keep the strategy current. You will serve as primary point of contact and advocate for your GSA account, addressing customer needs, solving complex problems, and aligning with regional and business leadership to ensure commitment of resources. You will keep key SFDC programs like molecule mapping and growth project funnel current and consistent with our strategy. In collaboration with franchise/region/functional teams you will anticipate customer needs and boost adoption of Merck technologies by early adopters. You will build excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders, proactively improving customer relationships to establish strategic partnerships up to C‑Level, network with senior executives, and secure new opportunities. You will lead complex multi‑functional initiatives—including VMC, thought leadership, and strategy development—by coordinating functional experts and regions. In collaboration with our Supply Chain Partners you will support forecast collaboration programs with customers to provide visibility into their forecast and demand.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree with 8+ years in Life Science or related industry
  • Experience within strategic/key account management and/or similar commercial experience managing large global accounts in the Life Science, Pharma, and/or Chemical industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven business development and negotiation skills, including closing of significant deals
  • Strong strategic and creative thinker with high‑level independent drive for results and perseverance
  • High‑level customer focus and ability to build effective relationships based on integrity, trust, and mutual respect
  • Ability to work with top management to secure buy‑in for new initiatives
  • Professional presentations in front of senior business audiences
  • Successful complex budget submissions
  • Designs effective business plans leading to action
  • Manages efficiently projects with complex scheduling and multi‑stage implementation
  • Leverages data and analytics to analyze, prioritize, and validate complex and dynamic information to develop co‑creation product concepts and recommendations
  • Break siloed thinking, embrace change, adjust approach in face of new demands
  • Ability to travel globally up to 30%

Pay Range

$161,100 – $241,700. This role may offer medical, vision, dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; paid time off; and other benefits. Short‑term or long‑term incentive compensation, including cash bonuses, may also be available.
