At OptumRx, a part of the UnitedHealth Group family of businesses and one of the largest pharmacy benefits managers in the United States, we are reinventing the health system. We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to enhance clinical pharmacy programs such as drug utilization review, prior authorization, health outcomes, disease state management, care management and other specialty programs. This is an opportunity to join a pharmacy team with a focus on clinical and business collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Present clinical findings and literature before National Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) committee
  • Oversee pharmacy projects from inception to completion
  • Provide responses to drug information requests
  • Identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems
  • Act as a knowledge resource for others with less experience
  • Demonstrate broad-based and comprehensive knowledge, make recommendations on behalf of a highly diverse patient population, and be well-versed in product formularies

Required Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted pharmacist licensure
  • 3+ years of experience working as a clinical pharmacist or 1+ year in a Pharmacy Residency Program with managed care and/or drug information experiences
  • Experience assessing and critically appraising clinical trials, evaluating comparative effectiveness evidence
  • Computer proficiency at the intermediate level and experience with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Willing or able to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a Pharmacy Residency program
  • Additional certifications in any areas of specialty (e.g., pharmacotherapy, oncology, cardiology, ambulatory care, HIV, pain management, psychiatry, multiple sclerosis)
  • Experience working on or with a Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) committee
  • Experience writing and presenting monographs and class reviews
  • Experience working within a PBM or Managed Care

Compensation and Benefits

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to salary, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution are offered (eligibility applies).

The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
