Overview

As an Assistant Store Manager, you will collaborate with store leadership to drive sales, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain visual merchandising and store operations. The role supports both daily tasks and strategic initiatives to keep Lids at the forefront of the sports retail market.

Responsibilities

• Generate sales gains by delivering customer service and achieving individual sales objectives.
• Adhere to Lids visual guidelines, including proper merchandising, signage, and store cleanliness.
• Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the Company Dress Code Policy.
• Protect company assets, manage inventory, and oversee opening/closing procedures in line with operations manuals.
• Schedule and manage store coverage, balancing wage control and labor guidelines.
• Recruit, train, and supervise store associates, encouraging compliance with company policies.
• Prepare store schedules and support store managers in strategic planning.
• Communicate effectively with employees at all levels and other store managers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by store leadership.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve sales results while minimizing loss.
• Strong interpersonal skills and clear oral communication.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with retail software.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work overhead.
• Standing for up to 100% of the time and ability to work unsupervised.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail store management or a similar supervisory role.
• Background in sports retail or merchandise sales.
