National Account Manager - Education & Specialty Services

POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The National Account Manager focuses on supporting and growing the National Sales channel by increasing revenue with existing customers and identifying and supporting new advertising prospects through the funnel. The role partners with internal departments to develop complex advertising solutions and works directly with clients to provide superior relationship management. Responsibilities include attending client meetings, creating advertising media plans, negotiating terms with independent judgment, and managing the full lifecycle of day-to-day account management activities, including successful launches, maintenance, and growth of campaigns.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Work with assigned Brand Manager(s) on proposals to meet client objectives, collaborating with cross-company teams to develop advertising solutions.
- Develop and revise media plans for existing accounts by analyzing historical data, client objectives, timing, product offerings, performance, and inventory.
- Project manage and coordinate campaign execution (contract development, onboarding, billing, performance reports, and client retention activities).
- Coordinate internal creative builds and sponsorship/custom programs as a liaison between client/creative agency and internal teams.
- Collaborate with Client Services and Client Strategy to identify and own up-sell/cross-sell opportunities.
- Ensure effective communication with sales teams to anticipate customer needs and align advertising solutions with expectations.
- Provide high level of customer service with timely responses and proactive issue resolution.
- Provide support for print business where applicable.
- Participate in project work as directed by supervisor.
- Some travel may be required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Extensive experience developing large ad solutions aligned with market strategies, events, and brands.
- Experience handling high-volume client work or multi-location accounts.
- Experience collaborating with research, sales, and operations to execute solutions.
- Excellent analytical and interpretative skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Solid knowledge of online media.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects.
- Team player and strategic thinker.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); CRM or Order Management/Workflow systems experience is a plus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- College education or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years of experience in digital advertising.
- 3 years of experience in the media/publishing industry.
- 3 years of experience working with sales personnel.
- Experience in the Education vertical is preferred.
The annualized base salary for this role will range between $55,000 and $62,000. Base compensation is reflective of factors including market, education level, skills, certifications, and experience. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and may be applicable depending on the role.
