Adjunct College Laboratory Technician - (College Now Program)

GENERAL DUTIES

Performs highly-skilled laboratory functions and other technical duties in support of coursework.

  • Sets up, maintains, and organizes student laboratories
  • Assists students with setting up experiments and other learning exercises, and with the use of equipment and materials
  • Maintains appropriate safety and hygiene standards
  • Maintains required documentation related to laboratory activities
  • Manages equipment and materials inventories

JOB INFORMATION

The Kingsborough Community College - College Now Program is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Adjunct College Laboratory Technician to join our team.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Assist faculty and students during sessions, providing technical support and guidance
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition
  • Manage inventory of lab supplies and materials, ordering replacements as needed
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and protocols

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma with a minimum of four years related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong technical skills and familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail and commitment to the program

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$31.22 per hour. CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification.
