Work with the RN in the OR to ensure a sterile environment and provide safe care to the surgical patient. **Essential Functions*** Assist the Surgeon during the procedure* Collaborate with the circulating nurse to ensure all instruments, equipment and supplies are in the Operating Room for the specified case* Count instruments with Circulating RN as per protocol* Maintain sterile technique* Have the ability to lift heavy instrument trays* The ability to work in a team environment and with difficult personalities* Maintain surgical instruments and report any defects **Qualifications*** High School Required* BS Preferred* 1-3 years* Aware of names of surgical instruments and how they are utilized Know how to properly hand off surgical instruments How to count surgical instruments in an efficient manner* Certified Surgical Technologist Required* CST certification Required Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital is an equal employment opportunity employer.
