This position will drive data-informed decision-making across the organization by transforming complex healthcare data into actionable insights that improve outcomes, enhance operational efficiency, and optimize financial performance. This leader will execute a comprehensive BPN specific analytics strategy aligned with BPN's organizational objectives. The role involves close collaboration with BPN clinical and business leaders, including participation on the BPN Executive Team meetings, to identify performance improvement opportunities and drive innovation in analytics supporting value-based care initiatives and population health management. Additionally, this leader will play a key role in modernizing the data architecture and supporting platform rationalization in collaboration with the leader of Data Platform Engineering. This position will lead a team of professionals, fostering a culture of data-driven excellence throughout the organization. This leader will also align to the BPN Business Unit Goals and MIPS measures.CORE FUNCTIONS1. Serves as the subject matter expert and liaison between end users and Banner technical teams. Leads the team responsible for fulfilling all BPN data and analytics requests. Develops and executes comprehensive analytics strategy aligned with BPN organizational objectives. Drives innovation in analytics supporting value-based care initiatives and population health management.2. Designs, creates, and implements end user self service tools that provide data and analytics in real-time including daily reporting functionality on all aspects of BPN operations and finance. Creates ad-hoc reporting tools. Serves as strategic advisor to BPN Executive Team on data-driven decision making and performance optimization.3. Builds and supports effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and organizations. Develops partnerships, coordinates activities, reviews work, exchanges information, and/or resolves problems related to health management programs. Partners with appropriate parties, including third party payors, to ensure highly effective and efficient care delivery that reduces cost, improves quality of outcomes and delivers an excellent member experience.4. Implements advanced analytics and reporting in the areas of medical economics and complex care management to identify those most at risk and why, to validate care management strategies. Develops comprehensive tools and structures that provide leadership with reliable, continuously validated data.5. Develops a thoroughly tested data repository to provide accurate information to various end users to achieve desired patient health outcomes. Transforms complex healthcare data into actionable insights for clinical and business stakeholders. Develops predictive analytics models to support proactive decision-making.6. Communicates the department vision, translating it into actionable projects and activities. Maximizes management staff’s contributions and assures timely decision-making reflecting the mission, vision, and values of the system.7. Reviews, prepares, analyzes, and presents reports and recommendations to senior leadership regarding operations, programs, services, and/or other applicable areas of interest to provide concise and accurate information that aids in decision-making.8. Identifies opportunities to improve clinical outcomes through data analysis. Drives operational efficiency improvements through advanced analytics. Optimizes financial performance through data-informed strategies. Monitors and reports on key metrics related to value-based care contracts.9. This position has direct leadership accountability for population health management and well-being strategies and programs for Banner and BHN. This position requires the skill to negotiate and influence. Customers of this position are both internal and external, including leadership, staff, medical staff, third party payors, regulatory agencies, and the community.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.10+ years of progressive experience in healthcare analytics, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Demonstrated expertise in healthcare data analytics, particularly in value-based care models and population health management. Strong understanding of healthcare economics, risk adjustment methodologies, and quality measurement frameworks. Proven track record of translating complex data into actionable business insights that drive organizational performance. Experience building and leading high-performing analytics teams in complex healthcare environments.Proficiency with AWS cloud services ecosystem, particularly AWS data and analytics services (e.g., S3, Glue, Athena, QuickSight). Hands-on experience with Databricks platform, including Delta Lake, Spark SQL, and MLflow for large-scale data processing and analytics. Expertise with ThoughtSpot's search and AI-driven analytics platform for business intelligence and data visualization. Experience architecting and implementing modern data solutions leveraging AWS, Databricks, and ThoughtSpot integration. Advanced knowledge of data engineering principles and ETL/ELT processes in cloud environments. Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and analysis within Databricks environments.Deep understanding of healthcare data structures, including claims, clinical, and operational datasets. Experience with healthcare data governance frameworks and data quality management.Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple complex analytics initiatives simultaneously. Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Collaborative leadership style with proven ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries.Experience leading cloud migration initiatives and modernizing legacy data systems to cloud-based platforms. Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements related to data privacy and security (HIPAA, etc.). Strategic thinking with ability to align analytics initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
