Position Overview

CAS is currently seeking a Synthetic Chemist / Natural Product Chemist to join our Content Operations team. This position will be based at our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Responsibilities

1. Analyze, collect, and curate valuable chemical structure data from patents and journals, utilizing CAS indexing policies and expertise.
2. Leverage technical knowledge and language skills to extract insights and build the CAS Content Collection.
3. Index substance and reaction data from patents, journals, and other chemistry literature.
4. Provide scientific and content insights, capabilities, and solutions to other CAS functions.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master of Science in Synthetic Chemistry, Natural Products, or a related science; 1-3 years of relevant experience for bachelor’s degree holders.
• Japanese and/or Korean language skills are preferred.
• Excellent scientific reading comprehension and writing skills.
• Ability to learn policies, tools, and work habits to ensure quality and productivity.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
