🚀 Senior RF Design Engineer

Position Details

Location: Tucson, AZ (RMS AP Bldg M East Hermans Road Building M02, Tucson, AZ, 85756 USA)

Role Type: Onsite

Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required.

Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance required.

Effector RF Products

Effector RF Products is responsible for designing RF and microwave hardware, including transmitters, receivers, and exciters. This includes design and test activities that span preliminary design to integration. Products we develop support radar and datalink applications on a variety of tactical missile programs. Critical to this role is designing for challenging mechanical constraints and extreme environments.

What You Will Do

• Design and develop transmitters, receivers and exciters.
• Design circuit card assemblies (CCAs) with RF or mixed signals.
• Work in a lab to accomplish component characterization, module verification and integration.
• Test and handle sensitive RF hardware.
• Schematic capture and RF routing.
• Partner with interdisciplinary teams – power, digital, mechanical, etc.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typical education: Bachelor’s in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
• Minimum of five years relevant experience in RF design, test, or simulation.
• Experience with RF design and fabrication tools: Mentor DX Designer, HFSS, SystemVue/Genesys, Advanced Design System (ADS).
• Skill in RF test and troubleshooting.
• Experience with RF simulation of products.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Mentorship or apprenticeship experience.
• Technical oversight of less‑senior engineers.
• Cross‑domain project experience.
• Architecting and requirement definition for complex RF products.
• Team lead experience on technical projects, including cost and schedule.
• EVMS or CAM experience.
• Ability to prepare documentation with minimal oversight.
• Design for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints (yield, margin).
• Expertise in cascade analysis, filter design, CCA design, RF hybrid technologies, high‑speed data converter test, high‑power RF design.
• Scripting experience (Matlab or Python).
• Front line leadership desirable.

• Salary range: $82,000 - $164,000 USD.
