🚀 Industrial Designer/Engineer

Overview

Phoenix Day, a leader in high-end lighting manufacturing, seeks an Industrial Designer / Engineer. We work closely with Interior Designers and Architecture firms to develop custom light fixtures and metal work. We are looking for someone to help develop new products and annual collections from initial concept and prototype to final product.

Responsibilities

• Design & Engineering: Translate concepts into detailed 3D CAD models using SolidWorks. Select premium materials, integrate advanced LED and control technologies, and ensure optimal thermal management for performance. You\'ll lead design, development, and quality assurance.
• Prototyping & Refinement: Lead prototyping, iterating until the final product is approved.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the design team and collaborate with industrial designers, mechanical, electrical, and our manufacturing workshop.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure every product embodies our legacy of craftsmanship and innovative design. Creation of production documentation, including shop drawings, product requirement documents, engineering drawings, and bills of materials.

Requirements

• Proficient in SolidWorks
• 3-5 years of industrial design or product engineering experience, preferably in high-end manufacturing.
• Lighting experience
• Deep understanding of premium materials and manufacturing processes, with experience pushing limits to achieve desired results
• Knowledge of electrical integration, thermal management, and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles.
• Exceptional eye for detail, form, and finish.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to provide solutions to complex engineering problems
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively within a team environment, communicating technical issues clearly
