Overview
The Department of Radiation Oncology and Molecular Sciences at Johns Hopkins University seeks highly motivated faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to provide specialized skills in radiation therapy, conduct research, and contribute to teaching in related education programs. The successful candidate will report to the Chief of Medical Physics Division and will support all aspects of medical physics duties, including radiation protection, simulation, treatment planning, and machine and patient-specific quality assurance. Candidates with strong communication and collaboration skills are desired and the ability to participate in developmental projects aligned with the department's programmatic goals is expected.

Facility and Equipment
Johns Hopkins Medicine upholds a mission of patient care, research, and education. The physics division includes faculty and staff across multiple facilities, with a range of clinical services and equipment, including nine Elekta linear accelerators, a CyberKnife system, MR simulators, CT simulators, and a proton therapy center. Treatment planning is conducted using the RayStation system and the MOSAIQ information system for treatment management and data sharing.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical physics support for radiation therapy procedures, including radiation protection, simulation, treatment planning, and quality assurance for machines and patients.
- Collaborate with clinical and research teams to advance program goals and participate in development projects as appropriate.
- Contribute to teaching and education programs within the department.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Medical Physics or related field.
- Board certification by the American Board of Radiology, the American College of Medical Physics, Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine, or other relevant medical physics boards, or eligibility for board certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Research and educational experience in a university-based hospital setting.
