Senior Process Engineer Position and Responsibilities

As a Senior Process Engineer with Middough, you will collect and prepare data and information to perform detailed engineering calculations. The Senior Process Engineer also performs engineering design and analysis on complex or unique problems and coaches/mentors less experienced engineers, designers, and drafters.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Lead process engineering and multi-discipline teams through all design phases of a capital project.
2. Collect and prepare data and information, perform detailed engineering calculations, and write formal engineering/technical reports.
3. Design of liquid ingredient and product handling, storage and transfer systems.
4. Prepare material and energy balance, hydraulic, and heat transfer engineering calculations.
5. Develop equipment specifications, bid evaluations and vendor submittal reviews.
6. Maintain active membership in professional organizations and participate in technical seminars/courses.

Education, Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will possess the following:

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering discipline required; Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
2. 15+ years of process engineering experience.
3. Understanding of ASME, API, PIP, and CGA requirements preferred.
4. Experience designing and supporting the construction of batch and continuous chemical processing facilities in areas such as industrial gases, cryogenic facilities, coatings manufacturing, battery chemicals, precious metals refining, and plastics industries.
5. Working knowledge with process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and block flow diagrams.
6. Proficient with design of dry ingredient and product handling, storage and transfer systems.
7. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
8. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities.
9. Ability to multitask and organize for project efficiency.
10. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the candidate will:

1. Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
2. Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, and perform other physical activities.
3. Use up-close and distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustments.
4. May be exposed to adverse environmental conditions at client sites, including noise, extreme temperatures, and poor air quality.
5. Follow safety protections provided by the company and client sites.
6. May require travel to other locations or client sites, with a valid driver's license and auto insurance required.
