Description
We are hiring for our Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee, and Eau Claire, WI offices. The ideal candidate will have expertise in leading the business group for bridge, retaining wall, and box culvert design and will play a key role across JT’s municipal, transportation, and site development groups. Responsibilities include leading the structures business plan, pursuing strategic opportunities, and ensuring project success from scope to delivery.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and track a business plan for the structures group that supports JT’s growth
- Coordinate long-term strategic pursuits
- Communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention
- Determine staffing needs and assist in recruitment and retention
- Work with the executive team to align service line plans with company goals
- Ensure projects meet deadlines, specifications, budgets, and client expectations
- Succession planning for all service line staff/positions
- Mentor and develop staff
- Develop and manage the service line budget and oversee project budgets/profitability
- Coordinate overhead across service lines and review contracts/proposals
- Identify capital purchases and software needs
- Coordinate staff training and marketing/business development
- Track and forecast service line backlog and project schedules
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- 12+ years of experience in structural engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin or ability to obtain PE
- Experience managing structural design projects and design staff
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations and permitting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid organization and time management skills
- Self-disciplined/motivated with ability to work in a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to worksites and client meetings
- Legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located
- Occasional travel for professional development and project-related work
