Job Overview

Our client, an apparel company, is looking for a VP of Design for Boys Apparel to join their team in NYC!

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute boys’ apparel collections that align with brand DNA, market trends, and customer needs.
• Oversee product lifecycle from concept through production, ensuring timely execution and financial targets are met.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams (sales, design, merchandising, factories) to deliver accurate assortments and samples.
• Lead merchandising and assortment planning, analyzing performance to identify growth opportunities.
• Drive innovation, streamline processes, and represent the brand in design meetings, buyer presentations, and licensor approvals.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in boys’ apparel design or merchandising with strong knowledge of the market.
• Proven ability to build collections, identify trends, and grow businesses.
• Strong merchandising sensibility with a commercial design eye and ability to manage from concept to execution.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable working cross‑functionally.
• Solid understanding of the competitive landscape across mass, department store, and off‑price channels.
