Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Mid-Senior level Electrical Estimator, to work on-site at our headquarters located in Billerica, MA. The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for accurately analyzing bid documents to estimate the cost for commercial electrical projects. Responsibilities include collaborating/leading estimating coordinators to perform takeoff, evaluating vendors for competitive material quotes, communicating with clients to ensure project requirements are understood, writing detailed bid proposals, support project managers and engineers to ensure project success.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Track bids and attend pre-bid meetings and walkthrough with client
• Review bid documents for project schedules, photos, RFI responses, Addendums, etc.
• Print bid drawings or use Bluebeam to perform takeoff (counts) for material
• Enter material takeoffs using Conest Intellibid estimating software
• Review quotes from subcontractors, vendors and suppliers for accuracy and scope

Required Skills/Abilities

• Solid technical skills to read and understand construction documents (drawings, specifications)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.)
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strong memory and ability to visualize
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude, patience, ability to focus and confidence to ask questions
• The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with an attention to detail
• General understanding of trades, scopes, timelines, scheduling/sequencing of work
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work overtime when required
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture/Engineering/Construction or related field is preferred but not required
• 3-10 years commercial electrical or relevant trade experience is preferred but not required
