The Counsel II - Real Estate & Permitting Law will provide legal support to the U.S. renewable energy business team in connection with the development and construction of projects primarily in the East Region.
Work will be dedicated to the provision of legal advice associated with real estate topics, including the preparation and negotiation of a wide variety of real estate documents required for the development and construction of renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing legal advice on real estate topics
- Preparing and negotiating real estate documents
- Reviewing title documents and resolving title issues
- Negotiating title insurance policies and related topics
- Collaborating with support staff and other business partners
- Supporting the Companyโs real estate developers in the acquisition of land and development rights
Requirements for the role include:
- J.D. (Juris Doctor) degree from a U.S. university
- Admission to a state bar in the United States
- Minimum 5 yearsโ experience as a real estate development lawyer
- Specific legal knowledge and experience in solar, battery, and/or wind real estate matters
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills
The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $150,000-$184,000.
