Assistant Project Manager – Multi-family Construction

Washington, DC and surrounding areas. One of our GC clients in the DC area is hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support multifamily and historic renovation projects across the city. This is a great fit for someone who’s worked on $20M–$50M jobs and wants to take on more responsibility in a company that values both craftsmanship and collaboration.

This contractor is known for unique projects that shape the fabric of DC — from ground-up multifamily developments to the restoration of architecturally significant buildings. They’re a smaller team, so this role offers visibility, long-term growth potential, and the chance to work closely with strong leadership.

What you'll be doing:

• Assist PMs in managing all aspects of the project lifecycle, from preconstruction to closeout
• Handle submittals, RFIs, change orders, and coordination with subs and vendors
• Support budgeting, scheduling, and cost tracking
• Collaborate with supers, clients, and internal stakeholders to keep things moving smoothly
• Ensure documentation, compliance, and quality control are handled proactively

What we're looking for:

• 2–5+ years of experience with a General Contractor
• Experience supporting projects in the $20M–$50M range
• Background in multifamily and/or complex renovations preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
• Based in the Washington, DC area – relocation not offered for this role
