Legal Counsel β€” Delta Electronics Americas

Position Purpose

To support the legal functions of Delta in the Americas region.

Core Competencies / Strengths

  • Deep background in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial terms of supplier and customer agreements, including but not limited to global master purchase agreements, distribution and sales representative agreements, terms and conditions, stocking and warehousing agreements, and service and development agreements on both domestic and international levels.
  • Mastery of substantive U.S. legal concepts pertaining to commercial contracts and business development, including warranties, remedies, indemnities, limitations of liability, product liability, and intellectual property rights.
  • Knowledge of corporate forms relevant to an in-house context, such as leases, independent contractor agreements, employee handbooks, privacy policies, demand letters, settlements and releases, etc.
  • Functional knowledge of corporate compliance, HR laws and regulations, corporate governance and entity management.
  • Interest in Delta’s product portfolio, including broad product lines in emerging technologies and power electronics.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to provide clear and concise business-oriented legal advice.
  • Ability to provide timely status updates to management and product team leaders.
  • Desire to solve problems with a balanced focus on legal and business considerations.
  • Commitment to positive and respectful working relationships, internally and externally.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Expertise

  • Energy and utility industry experience is a plus.

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Membership in good standing with at least one State Bar.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant U.S. legal in-house and/or law firm experience.
