Job Purpose
Supervises corporate and international Travel Agents, overseeing their work assignments to ensure coverage of all areas of Agency business. Responsible for evaluating, selecting and implementing advanced technological tools to streamline and automate agency tasks. Designs and implements automated operational processes based on evolving industry technology. Develops agent technical training and procedures to ensure proper technology application and efficient operation. Independently negotiates hotel and car service contracts for corporate transient travel. Develops and maintains preferred vendor and international subsidiary travel databases. Provides enhanced level of travel service and expertise to VIP clients, including executives and the Mary Kay Ash family. Supervises entry level staff, develops customized training plans, evaluates progress, and provides input regarding advancement. Functions as a “trip director” as required to support agency incentive travel promotions.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervises, assists and reviews work of corporate and international Travel Agents responsible for the arrangement of all travel and travel related services for Mary Kay Inc. employees and independent consultants, ensuring optimal comfort for travelers at the least possible cost. Coordinates workflow to ensure coverage across Agency business, including travel for corporate employees and ISF incentives. Evaluates and provides performance feedback to staff.
- Provides enhanced travel service and expertise to VIP clients, including executives, key international travelers, and the Mary Kay Ash family. Manages small meetings for VIP clients, coordinates private events and assists with VIP travel to corporate events ensuring proper security, safety and comfort.
- Interprets and applies corporate travel policy. Guides others on policy application and procedures for violations and exceptions. Reviews procedures, makes recommendations for improvement and implements approved recommendations. Partners with Agency Manager on soft skills and procedures changes.
- Trains and develops agency staff on procedures and technological tools to ensure mastery and efficiency. Leverages technology to automate routines and optimize manpower for non-routine tasks. Ensures compliance with ARC ticket issuance and report submission.
- Independently negotiates hotel and car service contracts for corporate transient travel. Maintains preferred vendor database and international subsidiary travel database with details for each destination (visa requirements, transportation options, hotels, etc.).
- Evaluates, selects and implements advanced technological tools to streamline agency tasks. Customizes agency software (Sabre, GetThere and Ticketing Assistant) to maximize effectiveness. Provides hardware support and customer service for related issues.
- Functions as a “trip director” for incentive travel promotions. Travels to attend industry technology conferences and seminars.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Education: Bachelor/University Degree
Experience: 3+ years
Field of Experience: Travel agency, Corporate Travel
- Mastery of travel agency automated tools (Sabre, GetThere, Passkey) with proficiency to troubleshoot systems and applications and reprogram if required to resolve issues.
- Experience booking flights for corporate and executive level employees and working with airlines.
- Mastery of passport and visa requirements for all MK international markets.
- Strong negotiation skills to evaluate and process appropriate hotel and car service contracts and automation licenses.
- High level of confidentiality and strong customer service, written and verbal communication skills to interact with executives and staff.
- Domestic/international overnight travel required approximately 5% of work time.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and stand, sit and/or walk for extended periods.
