Position Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive CDI audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices.
- Analyze audit findings, billing trends, and documentation deficiencies to provide data-driven insights for improving accuracy, reducing denials, and protecting revenue.
- Collaborate with the New Site Implementation Team to ensure effective clinical documentation reviews for new facilities.
- Provide training and education to staff on documentation requirements, promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
- Prepare reports, executive summaries, and educational materials to communicate audit findings and recommendations to leadership.
- Support the RCM Front-End Business Continuity Plan to maintain documentation quality and revenue capture during facility EMR downtimes.
- Stay current on industry updates, regulatory changes, and evolving documentation standards to ensure ongoing compliance and process improvement.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years coding experience
- Strong knowledge of clinical documentation compliance, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Must have and maintain a coding credential through AAPC or AHIMA
- Must have or obtain CDEO or similar certification, within 1 year of employment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, to support documentation, reporting, and presentations.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to create clear and concise communications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive knowledge of medical billing software and electronic medical records.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with providers, RCM teams, and leadership in a professional and respectful manner.
