Reports to the Head of Markets, US The successful candidate will assist in the delivery and development of the real estate fund services, in a manner that is aligned to the Aztec Group brand values and strategic business goals.
This individual will be required to manage client relationships through effectively leading dedicated client teams to deliver a superior standard of service in the marketplace.
Responsibilities
- Accounting: Senior accounting leader responsible for all technical accounting aspects for a portfolio of real estate structures
- Leadership: Manage, lead and build out a team (5-25) of technical accountants across all aspects of Real Estate (Real Assets) Funds & SPV accounting.
- Client Service: Responsible for managing the client relationships and service delivery for US Real Estate clients and in leveraging the global capabilities of the firm to meet US RE client needs.
- Act as the highest authority on day to day queries and as the A level 4-eyes signatory on accounting and administration matters, ensuring that company policy and professional and regulatory guidelines are adhered to and that a professional quality service is provided to clients and outside contacts
- Liaise with professional advisors and intermediaries during investment transaction and in relation to general market happenings and operating matters
- Review service provided and requested scope changes across teams to ensure that appropriate billing opportunities are identified, and appropriate action taken
- Ensure the thoughtful and fulsome integration of new clients and potentially new products or specific US nuances into the group's systems and procedures
- Manage the on-going training and development requirements of team members as well as the health, growth and cohesiveness of the team itself
- Business Development: Act as an accounting technical lead to assist with proposals, pitches and presentations in conjunction with the US Leadership team and the business development team and participate in new client proposals/pitches as necessary
- Participate in the development of detailed client pricing and potentially in related negotiations
Skills, knowledge, expertise
- Considerable practical experience in building teams and scaling with business growth is essential
- Sound technical financial services and accounting knowledge is essential
- Experience with Yardi is required
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
- Evidence of full responsibility for a major client relationship
- Demonstrable stakeholder management and engagement ability
- A desire to focus on team growth, ability to identify skills gaps, develop and coach staff
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement: Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- Experience as or at either or both of the below is required:
- a CFO, controller, or senior accountant at a fund; preferably at a Real Estate focused fund
- a Fund Administration firm
- CPA certification or MBA in a relevant field, preferred
