Alliant Insurance is hiring a Divisional Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst!

Summary: Responsible for providing analytical support to assist Producers and service team in servicing existing accounts and soliciting new business. Key responsibilities include financial analysis and financial modeling.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates in Producer Commission Compensation management by providing financial and analytical support for the Producer Commission Compensation accounting and forecasting processes.
  • Assists with the invoicing process and working with Finance and Business Managers;
  • Provides day to day and monthly financial reporting and daily revenue analysis;
  • Researches and resolves Business Unit inquiries for assigned functional areas;
  • Analyzes data to ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed;
  • Prepares financial reports, charts, tables and other exhibits as requested;
  • Performs special projects to improve process efficiency and performance;
  • Provides timely, relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of the division's performance against historical, budgeted and forecasted results;
  • Demonstrates and applies appropriate understanding/working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls;
  • Facilitates ad-hoc reports during the budget planning process;
  • Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information);
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Mathematics or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two (2) or more years of related work experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong mathematical ability
  • Possesses advanced knowledge of financial statements
  • Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent assignments and complete work by required due dates
  • Highly proactive; actively seeks opportunities for process improvement
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills including conditional formulas
