Job Description

Private Client Services at BDO is a boutique practice specializing in serving high net-worth individuals, their families, family offices, C-Suite executives, athletes, entertainers, and others with complex tax and financial structures. Our expertise covers estate, income, gift, trust tax consulting and compliance; charitable giving and foundations; executive compensation; and cash-flow, retirement, and life insurance planning.

Job Summary

A Tax Senior Manager in PCS utilizes their education and experience, along with communication, leadership, technical, and business development skills, to provide tax compliance and consulting services to high net-worth clients.

Job Duties

  • Manage tax and consulting engagements, identifying client needs and opportunities
  • Act as the primary client contact, presenting issues and resolutions
  • Review complex tax returns and provide feedback
  • Communicate with government agencies on complex matters
  • Conduct tax research and develop recommendations
  • Expand knowledge through client engagements and tax developments
  • Prioritize and review work to keep engagements on track
  • Assist with billing, recruiting, and training
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and professionals
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise associates and senior associates
  • Review work and provide feedback
  • Train team members on software tools
  • Act as a Career Advisor
  • Manage workload and performance of team members

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics; Master’s preferred
  • 7+ years experience in accounting, finance, or law; private client experience required
  • Supervisory experience required
  • CPA, EA, Attorney, or equivalent required

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with tax software and research tools preferred
  • Strong initiative, communication, leadership, technical, and business development skills

Additional Information

Salary ranges vary by location, e.g., California: $146,000 - $200,000; Colorado: $120,000 - $185,000; etc.
