Senior Director, IT Operations
Manages the TSYS Mainframe Technical Support Team supporting the TSYS Enterprise Mainframe hardware infrastructure. This Mainframe Tech Support Team manages all the Physical Hardware, Capacity Planning and Storage Administration teams supporting mainframe systems and infrastructure worldwide, responsible for processing over 800 million accounts on file and a transaction rate exceeding 1 Billion transactions daily.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 25+ people developing clear mission, culture & organizational structure to effectively guide and support Sr Director, Director and Senior Manager level leaders and the team as a whole
- Strive to deliver 99.999% service availability for core processing platform infrastructure developing proactive programs and completing related initiatives to achieve desired outcome
- Develop strategies and set objectives that collaboratively support Business Application-owner, Security, Compliance and Infrastructure engineering groups to achieve their goals in a timely and cost-efficient manner
- Deliver on-going compliance with external and internal standards for infrastructure platform management through clear policy communication and consistent, high-quality execution while modernizing delivery methodologies, structures and processes
- Lead strategic and tactical planning, evaluation and coordination of functional priorities and guide appropriate management of team resources to ensure any Issuer Infrastructure dependencies for approved projects are balanced with critical, day-to-day operational demands
- Lead the identification and provision of operational infrastructure requirements for new engineering strategies and initiatives
- Analyze the costs, value and risks of in-scope Information Technology domain to advise senior management and recommend actions
- Track key vendor operational performance ensuring appropriate corrective steps taken where necessary
- Ensure valuable Key Performance and Risk Indicator data for the Issuer Infrastructure Technology organization are devised and acted upon delivering overviews and reporting of department activity to executive management
- Develop a strategy and management approach that is customer-focused, drives performance, encourages creativity, develops technical proficiencies, nurtures a positive workforce experience and rewards key performers
- Provide day-to-day leadership, direction and encouragement to staff members on goals, objectives and career development to recruit, motivate and retain a high performing team
- Monitor changes or advancements in technology and practices to discover ways to support the Issuer business to gain competitive advantage
- Establish and manage the financial budget allocation for the Issuer Infrastructure Technology Organization ensuring responsible budget control for effective, on-budget use of company capital
- Lead key M&A activities as necessary to ensure quick and efficient integration of technology and staff to meet strategic and synergistic targets
