Role Overview

The Director will lead risk management of commodities credit exposures, providing credit approval and ongoing monitoring across all product lines. The role will support senior risk strategy, develop processes, and interface with regulatory, finance, and internal audit.

Responsibilities

  • Lead regional and key risk reviews, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk threats.
  • Critically evaluate assigned portfolios, identify and assess emerging risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement of credit risk processes and standards.
  • Oversee and validate corrective action plans for identified issues.
  • Review, challenge and provide approval for the assigned portfolio credits and recommendations to senior credit officers.
  • Provide independent assessments on accuracy and appropriateness of risk ratings and classifications.
  • Collaborate with other credit risk families to support the best outcome for Citi.
  • Manage relationships with external regulators, risk, finance, accounting policy.
  • Partner with the risk organization to refine the process of defining, extracting, and utilizing data.
  • Own relevant scorecards and underwriting frameworks.
  • Act as a change catalyst by identifying opportunities to streamline work and create process improvements.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in credit risk management or senior credit officer.
  • Broad, comprehensive understanding of credit risk field, recognized as subject matter expert.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership, developing new techniques and innovative approaches to credit risk.
  • Proven track record of innovation and groundbreaking developments in credit risk assessment & mitigation.
  • Advanced analytical, quantitative and qualitative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to drive change within and beyond the organization.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.
