The position of BSA Analyst is responsible for assisting the BSA Officer and BSA Manager with all aspects of compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and other related laws and regulations (USA Patriot Act/CIP, Anti-Money Laundering and OFAC) and Bank related policies. Review and analyze account data and complex transactions utilizing the BSA automated monitoring system and data processing system. Determine the level of risk associated with each account and recommend an account risk rating. Monitor internal controls, policies and procedures to ensure effective BSA compliance. Assist in the review of new account opening documentation for all accounts, e.g., personal, business, corporate, correspondent banks, certificates of deposits, etc.
FLSA Status: Full-Time (Non-Exempt)
Location: On-Site in Bethesda, Maryland
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and review automated monitoring system alerts to identify suspicious or unusual transactions including cash, wires, monetary instruments, ACH, POS and ATM transactions.
- Analyze a variety of customer reports to determine which transactions are unusual for a particular customer and therefore may be suspicious and which transactions represent normal activity for the customer.
- Aggregate, compile, store and analyze data; identify high-risk and potentially suspicious activities.
- Assist with compliance-related audits, as assigned.

Position Requirements
- Minimum of two years' experience related to banking/branch operations or BSA/AML compliance.
- Understanding and working knowledge of core banking systems.
- General knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC and other deposit-related banking laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel) required.
- Solid verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Detail oriented individual who is able to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Professionalism and confidentiality are essential.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
