Chief Financial Officer – Intermountain Centers for Human Development

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial strategies, plans, and budgets that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the CEO, Board of Directors, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead the annual audit process and ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Manage the organization's grants and ensure proper tracking, reporting, and compliance with grant requirements.
  • Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to support decision‑making processes.
  • Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to support organizational growth and sustainability.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, donors, and financial institutions.

Qualifications

  • Reports directly to the CEO of Intermountain Centers for Human Development.
  • 3 Direct Reports.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Advanced Degree & CPA Preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a nonprofit organization.
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proven experience in managing audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Extensive experience in grants management, including tracking, reporting, and compliance.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to the mission of Intermountain Centers for Human Development.
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to translate complex information to multiple stakeholders in a timely manner.

Location – Tucson, AZ

Intermountain Centers for Human Development has locations across the state of Arizona; the corporate headquarters and the CFO will be officed in Tucson, AZ. Tucson is situated in the eastern portion of Pima County, Arizona in one of the lushest valleys found in the Sonoran Desert.
