Position Overview
The Supplier Quality Engineer plays a key role in ensuring that externally sourced components and materials meet the company’s quality, safety, and performance standards. This position focuses on enhancing supplier performance, driving continuous improvement, and supporting cross-functional initiatives to optimize product reliability and cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Excellence
- Develop and execute supplier quality strategies based on risk assessments and performance data.
- Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems and compliance protocols.
- Lead initiatives aimed at improving supplier processes and overall product quality.
- Coordinate and monitor corrective and preventive actions to resolve supplier-related issues.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure adherence to quality expectations.
- Analyze non-conformances, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Generate detailed reports on inspections, audits, and quality incidents to support decision‑making.
- Champion continuous improvement projects to enhance supplier capabilities and reduce defects.
Cross‑Functional & Customer Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to align supplier quality goals with business objectives.
- Manage supplier qualification and performance evaluation programs, including audit scheduling and follow‑up.
- Support new product development and engineering changes by integrating supplier quality requirements early in the design process.
- Provide technical guidance to suppliers and internal teams to ensure compliance with product specifications and regulatory standards.
- Participate in design reviews and project planning to embed quality checkpoints throughout the development lifecycle.
- Travel to supplier locations as needed to conduct evaluations, resolve issues, and support improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, supply chain, or regulatory compliance
- OR 8+ years of combined experience in engineering, operations, design, quality, or supply chain roles
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Engineering or Business
- Professional certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), CPIM, or CSCP
- Familiarity with ISO standards, Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, and ERP/MRP systems
- Strong analytical and root cause problem‑solving skills
- Ability to influence and collaborate across global teams
