Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the U.S., is looking to hire a skilled Autonomous Vehicle Service Technician/Mechanic to repair, maintain, and retrofit our fleet of Electric Autonomous Vehicles (EV/AV). Compensation
Competitive hourly pay ($35–49/hour) based on experience; paid weekly every Friday.
Shift
Thursday–Monday, 2:00 pm–10:30 pm.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Assisting technicians with service and repair of electrical, mechanical, and integration issues on autonomous vehicles and their equipment
- Performing software and firmware updates
- Following processes and documenting potential improvements and issues
- Collaborating with internal engineering and service teams to troubleshoot and diagnose issues
- Creating repair orders and documenting work performed, diagnosis, procedure, and parts required
- Creating issue tickets with engineering teams, following up on open issues to resolve
- Performing work with safety as the top priority
- Participating in continuing education and training
- Assisting with fleet‑wide hardware and software retrofits
Qualifications
- 4–8 years of experience working on cars (brakes, advanced suspension, alignment, electrical repair and diagnosis, software/firmware updates, nuanced mechanical, electrical, and A/C systems)
- Experience with complex hardware retrofits and AV hardware replacement, diagnostic on nuanced AV and EV systems
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and automotive shop equipment (impact guns, air tools, lifts, jacks, etc.)
- Hands‑on experience with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering components and understanding of how they interact
- Strong computer skills and aptitude to learn new technology
- Impeccable communication skills
- Learning mindset with openness to constructive feedback
- Track record of emphasizing safety and quality of work
- Clear verbal and written directives
- Ability to perform regular physical work (stooping, lifting, moving up to 50 lb)
- Ability to anticipate future setbacks and mitigate operational progress and growth

A Plus If You Have
- Experience with sensors, calibration, and/or the autonomous automotive field
- Dealership training and automotive experience
- Experience with Linux, Java, Python, C++, Jira, Confluence, G‑Suite, and Slack
- Previous experience diagnosing and performing repairs on electric and/or hybrid vehicles
- ASE certifications

- Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing duties
