Senior Engineer I / Senior Project Manager – Municipal Infrastructure

Location: Fort Collins, CO

Job Summary: Sanbell invites you to join our multi‑disciplinary engineering, planning, and design firm as a Senior Engineer or Senior Project Manager for municipal infrastructure projects in Colorado. With a team of over 200 professionals across 10 offices, we focus on delivering creative, practical solutions that serve communities and partners across the Western United States.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide civil engineering expertise for public infrastructure projects, including street and utility design, grading, stormwater management, permitting, specifications, and cost estimating.
• Prepare project specifications and manuals for bidding purposes.
• Complete designs and reports using appropriate engineering software.
• Provide construction oversight and contract administration for municipal infrastructure projects.
• Manage bid procedures, RFIs, and project closeout.
• Write project statements of qualification or proposals, define scope of work, develop budgets, and attend client and stakeholder meetings.
• Develop project workflows, plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Prepare and manage project plans, budgets, and schedules from start to completion with limited oversight.
• Act as a mentor, inspiring growth opportunities for co‑workers.
• Verify the accuracy of work performed by team members.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for business growth, focusing on relationships, marketing, and business development opportunities.
• Manage and grow a diverse portfolio of municipal infrastructure projects.

Minimum Education Requirements:

• B.S. in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited university.

Required Qualifications:

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Colorado or eligibility to obtain certification through reciprocity.
• 10+ years of engineering design and project management experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of municipal infrastructure project engineering.
• Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC‑RAS, Mile High Flood District software, and traffic analysis design tools.
• Strong technical writing skills for proposals, design reports, and memos.
• Effective communication in public and team settings.
• Enthusiasm for being a ‘Cool, Smart, Talented Person’ (CSTP).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with local agencies, municipalities, and transportation departments.
• Experience leading interdisciplinary design teams.

$120,000 – $150,000 per year
