🚀 Legal & Compliance Counsel

New York based hedge fund is seeking an experienced investment management attorney to join their New York office, working closely with both the firm’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. This individual will take a lead role in overseeing the firm’s compliance with U.S. investment adviser regulations and will also contribute to a broad range of legal matters across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing and enhancing the firm’s compliance framework under SEC and related investment adviser regulations.
• Monitoring legal and regulatory developments that may impact the firm’s global investment activities and advising business teams accordingly.
• Managing U.S. and foreign regulatory filings.
• Drafting and negotiating contracts, including NDAs and other commercial and operational agreements.
• Partnering with teams across the organization—front office, finance, operations, investor relations, and technology—to ensure consistent application of legal and compliance standards.
• Supporting the firm’s international offices and participating in cross-border initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Juris Doctor (JD) required.
• Prior experience at a registered investment advisor.
• Admission to the New York Bar is preferred.
• A minimum of four years of relevant experience.
• Strong working knowledge of SEC regulations and other investment advisory compliance requirements.
