Description:

• Supports defense analytical requirements with enhanced scientific research, capability / limitation analysis, reverse engineering analysis / characterizations, facility and vulnerability assessments.
• This includes, but is not limited to, applied and interdisciplinary fields of physics such as astrophysics, biophysics, directed energy weapons, and / or geophysics.
• Conducts independent research, technical writing, modeling, and overseeing / consulting with allied engineering disciplines on, but not limited to, the areas of fiber optics, acoustics, semiconductors, lasers, weapons development and testing.
• Prepares products to describe and document findings and activities.
• Posses either a bachelor's degree in physics or a related physical field.
• Research, review, evaluate, and integrate complex all-source intelligence data and other sources of classified and unclassified information to contribute to the production of finished intelligence pertaining to foreign defense industrial bases including military materiel production (Missile, Aviation, Naval, Ground, General Purpose: ammunition, explosives, electronics, military vehicles, etc) and strategic materiel (mining/ore processing, metals, chemicals, rare earth minerals/elements, etc)
• Apply sound scientific or engineering methods and practices to analyze and characterize the military capabilities of assigned weapons systems or programs.
• Knowledge of the U.S. Intelligence Community, Department of Energy laboratories, and other partner organizations in planning, organizing, and leading coordination and collaborative intelligence analysis and collection.
• Maintain, monitor and assure the quality of databases (MlDB/MARS) describing military industrial facilities, programs and networks.
• Identify significant intelligence gaps and specify collection requirements to fill gaps in information, and evaluate resulting intelligence collected in response to requirements.
• Maintain coordination and continuing liaison with counterparts in the intelligence community and related government, industry, and educational institutions in order to exploit all possible sources of information.
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency and knowledge in assigned scientific or technological area; remain abreast of advanced developments and incorporate knowledge into analytic products.

Security Clearance:

• Security clearance required TS/SCI with CI POLY or the ability to obtain CI POLY.

Job Requirements

Desired experiences:

• At least 8 years of experience conducting analysis relevant to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.

Desired education:

• Bachelor’s degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• An additional 4 years of experience in the specific labor category, for a total of 12 years of experience in the specific labor category, may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
