About the Company

I have partnered with a family-owned regional business with a proud history of serving our community and customers with integrity and dedication. As they continue to grow and due to a recent retirement, they are seeking a hands-on, strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee the financial operations and guide the company toward long-term success while honoring their family values and commitment to employees.

Position Summary

The CFO will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for managing all financial functions including accounting, reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and compliance. This role requires both strategic vision and a roll-up-the-sleeves approach, with an emphasis on driving financial performance, improving processes, and supporting the continued growth of a family-run enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and banking.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor financial strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, forecasts, and management reports.
  • Manage cash flow, financing needs, and capital investments to support business operations and growth.
  • Partner with ownership and leadership team on business planning, risk management, and strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting systems, and processes.
  • Supervise and develop accounting/finance staff (if applicable).
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to ownership, balancing business performance with the values of a family-owned organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in a small to mid-sized, privately held or family-owned business.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across the organization.
  • Experience with financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Hands-on, collaborative, and adaptable approach suited to a close-knit, entrepreneurial environment.

Why Consider This Role?

This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of a respected family-owned business. You\'ll work closely with ownership, enjoy a supportive culture rooted in strong values, and make a direct impact on our long-term success.
