About the role
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and making a positive impact in your community? We are seeking a dedicated Customer Relations Officer to be the welcoming face of our Council, providing high-quality information and support for enquiries from the public.
This role plays a vital part in ensuring our customers leave with a positive impression of the organisation, while also supporting technical staff by handling routine enquiries efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality customer service at the counter and over the phone.
- Triage enquiries to determine if technical officer support is needed.
- Maintain and distribute up-to-date Council information and documentation.
- Register and record applications for Planning and Building departments.
- Coordinate brochures, handouts, and promotional materials.
- Ensure compliance with Procedures, Policy and Legislation
- Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and practices.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in providing face to face and phone-based customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and sound numeracy skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams) and experience with computerised systems.
