Overview

This position with a national specialty physician group will advance the organization’s growth strategy through acquisitions, joint ventures (JVs), and strategic partnerships. The Director of Corporate Development will manage the full lifecycle of transactions — from pitching and evaluation to due diligence and deal execution — in close partnership with physician leadership, executive management, and the company’s financial sponsor. This role involves building models, developing investment memos, managing third-party relationships, and executing joint venture opportunities. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, relationship-building, and project management skills, with prior experience in investing and corporate development, preferably with direct physician engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of acquisition and partnership opportunities in collaboration with the company’s physician leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, advisors, and physician practice owners to identify and pursue potential transactions.
  • Partner with physician dyad leaders to ensure effective communication and alignment with potential sellers throughout the process.

Financial Analysis & Transaction Execution

  • Lead or support detailed financial modeling, valuation, and underwriting for prospective acquisitions.
  • Prepare and present investment memoranda, business cases, and financial analyses to executive and physician leadership.
  • Travel as needed to target practices to present pitch materials and represent the organization to physician leaders.
  • Coordinate and manage cross-functional due diligence across finance, legal, operations, and clinical teams.
  • Support transaction structuring, negotiation, and closing activities in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external advisors.

Integration & Strategic Collaboration

  • Partner with operations and finance teams to ensure seamless onboarding and integration of newly acquired practices.
  • Monitor post-acquisition performance, identifying opportunities to optimize results and enhance integration processes.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and deal teams to refine assumptions, analyze key performance metrics, and support strategic growth initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field required.

Experience

  • 5–7 years of experience in M&A, private equity, investment banking, or corporate development.
  • Direct experience in healthcare services, ideally within physician practice or multi-site operational environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously and execute deals from sourcing through closing.
  • Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to sourcing and underwriting new investment opportunities.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills across executive, physician, and external stakeholder groups.
