Position Summary
This position requires the Executive Director to carry out the general operational and administrative aspects of FISH of East Aurora food pantry and clothing/household item distribution center. This is a part time position reporting directly to the President of the Board of Directors, working with the Board Treasurer and any committees constituted by the Board of Directors.
Job Responsibilities
- Client management: maintain client lists, interview new clients to determine eligibility and needs, refer clients to partner organizations as needed
- Grant maintenance: renew on-going grants, submit documentation, and search for new funding opportunities
- Media and Publicity: publish quarterly newsletter, update and maintain FISH website and social media pages. Engage with community organizations and develop partnerships with other local agencies
- Administrative operations: open building for pantry days, oversee volunteers, manage phone, email, and postal mail. Manage building operations.
- Other duties as assigned
About the Organization
FISH of East Aurora is a nonprofit, Christian inter‑denominational organization incorporated in the state of New York. A volunteer group, representing area churches, staff the food pantry and clothing/household distribution center. Everyday operation is handled by the Executive Director, food pantry managers and volunteers. A Board of Directors meets quarterly to oversee the operation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in the human services field, public administration or business field, or professional/volunteer experience in the human services area. Good computer skills are necessary. Candidates must have good communications skills to deal with individuals and groups in a professional, respectful manner.
Details
Hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:00am to 3:30pm, first Saturday of each month 9:00am to noon. Additional hours will be needed to complete the duties of the job as well as for fundraising and community events.
Salary for this part time position to be determined. The estimated annual base pay range for this role is $25,000 to $30,000. Final salary will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and other job related factors. The listed pay range represents a good‑faith estimate of the salary we reasonably expect to offer for this position. This is not a guarantee of compensation.
