Job Summary

The Network Director, Pharmacy Business Analytics and Performance is responsible for developing and managing the analytic framework that drives operational, financial, and clinical performance across the pharmacy enterprise. This role transforms data into actionable insights to support strategic decision-making, optimize resource utilization, and improve cost-effectiveness of pharmacy services across all WMCHealth entities. Reports directly to the SVP, Chief Pharmacy Officer, with dotted lines to both the VP of Ambulatory Pharmacy Services and the VP of Acute Care Pharmacy Services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee pharmacy business intelligence dashboards, reports, and analytics infrastructure.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, and IT to align pharmacy performance metrics with system KPIs.
  • Lead data analysis to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and revenue cycle management for all pharmacy service lines.
  • Provide data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions, payer negotiations, and capital investment planning.
  • Design and manage pharmacy KPI scorecards for inpatient, ambulatory, and specialty pharmacy services.
  • Ensure data integrity, standardization, and compliance with 340B reporting and audit requirements.
  • Lead analytics strategy for PBM contracts covering self-funded employee and retiree health plans, performing advanced analysis of utilization, rebates, and formulary performance to identify actionable opportunities to reduce costs and improve care outcomes.
  • Leverage large and complex datasets to model financial, clinical, and operational outcomes; translate findings into implementable strategies that optimize benefit design and network performance.
  • Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to deploy predictive models that forecast drug spend, optimize formulary management, and anticipate medication shortages.
  • Oversee benchmarking analyses against national and regional peers to guide system growth strategy.
  • Mentor team members on use of data visualization and advanced analytic tools.

Qualifications / Requirements

Experience

Minimum of 8-10 years in healthcare data analytics or pharmacy management; at least 5 in analytics or performance improvement.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Business, Data Science, or related field required; advanced degree (MBA, MHA, or MS Analytics) preferred.

Licenses / Certifications

Current NYS pharmacist license required, or eligible to obtain within 90 days of hire. Certification in data analytics or Six Sigma desirable.

Other

Experience with Epic, Power BI, Tableau, and SQL reporting tools preferred.
